Help Our Children Grow in the Garden
Looking for a way to give back to El Morro new year? The garden is in need of parent volunteers to help with the following areas...NO GREEN THUMB NEEDED!
After School Club: The Garden Club meets on Mondays from 2:30-3:30 p.m. You can volunteer just one time (one hour), one session (eight Mondays), or the entire year (all three sessions). Volunteers will assist Master Gardeners to help kids plant, harvest, weed and do a garden-themed lesson. It's a great way to get to know the students and learn something about gardening!
Class Garden Boxes: We need classroom garden volunteers to assist teachers in utilizing the garden to implement hands-on curriculum with their class by planting and harvesting in their own classroom plot in the garden. Time commitment is one hour for planting, one hour for harvesting. A fun way to help out in your child's classroom!
Funday Monday: A Funday Monday activity will take place in the garden on the 3rd Monday of the month from 11:30-12:30 p.m. (whether pending). Activites will vary -- some gardening, some arts and crafts. Supplies will be provided. Ideally, we need a minimum of 2-5 volunteers. This is very popular with the students since it provides them with something different to do at recess! Sign up to volunteer one time, multiple times, or the entire year.
